I have a oldish 14" crt monitor that has been living in a corner of my room for the last year. My charity has run out and it needs a new home, pronto. It's a bit grubby, but still in fully working order. Would anyone on here like it? First refusal will go to Rich, since I think I got it from him originally. If not, i'll freecycle it in a couple of days.

Let me know asap, I'm keen to be rid of it.

On a not entirely unrelated note, me and my friends are in the market for one or two more people to gang up with in the game. While we're doing fine in most cases there are a couple of instances which are giving us some grief. A dourhand dwarf overseer, which is kind of okay because he's hard as nails. And a bunch of bloody goblins, which is less so because they're fucking goblins dammit.

Come on you lot, save me from ignominious defeat at the hands of the lowest ranking monster on the food chain.

One of our customers, who is exceptionally cool, runs a recycling centre in Headington. This Saturday he's having a giveaway of books. I don't know what the volumes are but they must be reasonably large cause he's advertising all around the local area. Reference books, novels, childrens books, all manner of stuff.

I have a new computer system which appears to be working reasonably well (thanks be to those who helped bring this about - you know who you are), with one rather worrying exception. I used a USB flash drive on it, which proceeded to get unusually hot, and has since then refused to work. This happened twice before I realized the connection, the first one I used was a bit shit anyway and I thought it might just be being a bit more crap than usual, but the second one has always been very stable and reliable. I'm more than a little reluctant to try it out with another one, but am not sure what to do. Advice anyone?

Everyone say hello to Pixel (probably going to be called that it looks like). She has just moved in with Sentientfiction's mother, and I think you can expect to see more pictures of her. Currently she is small enough to hang quite comfortably in the palm of your hand, and as you can see she is still a little nervous about everything and has a predilection for things she can hide under.

- The dvd season 1 set of Rome has THE awesomest packaging ever, it comes in a fricking wooden box for crying out loud. I mean.. Come on!
- We're moving soon (the end of August) and the new place has prospects. We can't remember anything about it mind you, except that we "liked" it when we viewed it. And when I say "liked" I mean we hyperventilated, felt faint, and had the urge to smoke a cigarette. So that's awesome right? Even if we can't remember why? Well yes, however while the place itself is awesome (we hope, there's an offchance we were all just barking mad/on drugs when we saw it which would account for the memory loss) it's location is a bit more dubious. At least for me. So I'm reserving judgement on this until I've lived there for a while and seen how an extra ten minutes walk every morning impacts on my quality of life. Petty I know, but I hate mornings.
- We're going to Sweden next week. Two weeks of not being at work, of hanging out with the people I grew up with, and of pure unadulterated sloth. This is my favourite kind of awesome.

And that, I think, will do.

The news in brief.

- As I'm sure pretty much everyone knows by now, we didn't flood. This is a GOOD thing.
- The past weekend rocked, thanks to everyone involved, I had an awesome time. A particular thanks goes out as always to Sentientfiction for making it all happen.
- I now possess many new awesome things. Among others, but not limited to, everything for Battlelore ever. Well, maybe not but it sure feels like it. This provided me & Uncle Griff with many awesome hours of entertainment on Sunday. I'd say about 10 hours. Give or take a few. Awesome!
